Our 1927 Building
Comfort Inn Downtown DC Convention Center, located in the gentrified neighborhood of Logan Circle, has a European design, giving it more of a small, boutique hotel feel than an international chain-branded hotel. Originally constructed in 1927, the hotel's historic building was preserved amid renovations to maintain its original, Victorian-inspired exterior. It now has a completely-renovated interior, making it what it is today - stylish, unique and remarkable. With its interior renovations, the elevator shafts, structure and entryway were kept intact to maintain the hotel's history and originality. Not many know that the hotel was originally an apartment building in its beginning years! The individuality of the hotel is still reflected in many ways - noticeably in its polished guest rooms. With each room slightly different, including the windows and bathrooms, a unique experience is created for every guest.
Changes in Logan Circle
The hotel's building parades its 90-year-old history in the Logan Circle neighborhood, one that prides itself in "changing times and changing fortunes" with many recent residential and commercial developments. The neighborhood has seen major transitions and improvements since 1995 with the influx of restaurants and is now an arts and retail hub. Through its expansion, Logan Circle still maintains its old-world personality with 19th-century Victorian brownstones restored to their original grandeur.
